I have an interesting job. A lot of talented, successful people come to visit me in need of a job or thinking about a career change. Then there are the lucky ones who have made it and are looking for the next challenge. Because our firm focuses on executive-level talent, more often than not, our visitors are relatively well-to-do financially, and often our conversations drift into such questions as: "What do you want to do next? What challenge do you want to take on? How about a change in direction?" However, a recurring theme in almost every conversation is the illusive goal of financial security--the dollar sum that would enable you to do your own thing, whatever that thing may be.
