You may have to be a baby-boomer, or a collector of Marvel Comics, to appreciate this one totally. The March 3 issue of Business Week features a story entitled, "Career Advice From a Comic Book." In Japan, comic books, known as manga, are a big business and are intended for all ages. For business leaders, the "classic" Japanese comics are about serious business issues and financial management--really! And now, this genre is headed to the US, with a series aimed at professionals in their 20s, entitled, "The Adventures of Johnny Bunko: The Last Career Guide You'll Ever Need." Trend-setting author Daniel H. Pink produced this fully illustrated book that imparts big-picture career advice for Gen-Y. The book (due out in April), promises to be a thriller, and I can't wait to read about how supernatural career adviser Diana emerges from Bunko's chopsticks "late one soulless night at the office." Gee, I hope Johnny makes it to the waiting car service to whisk him off to his black-tie!
