Barbara Beck has worked in the executive search field since 1993 and has focused exclusively on the real estate industry. She has worked across real estate sectors, functional disciplines, and geographic regions. Prior to helping establish Equinox Search, she spent more than 8 years at Equinox Partners where she was a Managing Director and a founding Partner. She spent the years from 1993 to 2001 at a boutique search firm where she was a Principal in the real estate practice. Prior to entering the executive search field Barbara worked in financial services holding senior positions at the Northern Trust Company, Bankers Trust Company and Mutual of New York (MONY). Barbara holds a BA from Hood College, an MA in Psychology from Northwestern University and an MBA from New York University Stern School of Business. Marsha Pearcy is one of the most accomplished executive search consultants serving the real estate industry, having successfully represented clients globally across all real estate industry sectors for over 25 years. Before helping to establish Equinox Search in 2010, she worked with Equinox Partners where she was one of the original Partners. Prior to that, she spent nearly two decades at Russell Reynolds Associates, where she served the entire spectrum of real estate clients. She co-managed the firm's global real estate industry practice, and assisted in creating the firm's management assessment practice. She is fluent in Spanish, has lived in Latin America, and co-founded the Russell Reynolds Associates' Mexico City office, its first in Latin America. Kathy Turansky Ranek leverages her 20 plus year career in executive search as Managing Director of the Los Angeles office for Equinox Search. Her executive search career began with Russell Reynolds Associates where she spent 10 years serving Real Estate and Financial Services clients. She then joined Korn/Ferry International's mid-level recruitment subsidiary, Futurestep.com for six years, holding a variety of senior management positions including the head of the organizational assessment practice. From 2003 to 2006, Kathy had her own human capital consulting firm focused on serving clients needs in recruitment, talent retention and organizational assessment. Prior to helping establish Equinox Search in 2010, Kathy worked with Equinox Partners and was also COO of SelectLeaders.com, a division of Equinox Partners. Peter Hall brings extensive real estate industry experience and a 20-year track record in executive search to his role as Managing Director of Equinox Search. Peter is based in the firm's Western regional office in San Francisco. Acknowledged as one of the foremost real estate executive search consultants, his prior experience includes his role as Senior Partner at Heidrick & Struggles within the firm's Real Estate and Construction Specialty Practice. Peter's industry experience includes his role as Executive Vice President, Real Estate, for Bank of America and President of PMI Mortgage Insurance Company. Peter received an MBA from Stanford University and a BA from Georgetown University. Sally Carlson brings 28 years of experience in the real estate industry as a practitioner, consultant, and executive recruiter to meet her clients' search needs. She started with Wells Fargo Bank's Real Estate Group managing the credit function before moving into institutional investment management as a consultant with Deloitte & Touche and a Portfolio Manager and Head of Institutional Marketing with CNL Institutional Advisors. She was a member of the Global Marketing and Client Service team with Jones Lang LaSalle offering investment products along the entire risk/return spectrum, both domestic and international. She has been in executive search since 2000 when she joined Heidrick & Struggles and was Managing Partner and Co-Founder of Terra Search Partners. Sally divides her time between Equinox Search's San Francisco and New York offices to better serve her clients and candidates.
